We aim to provide a wide range of complementary health care services carried out in a relaxing and professional environment where the client can feel that they are treated as an individual and in a holistic manner. The clinic has been beautifully decorated and furnished to provide an ultimate experience for you and our clients. Whilst waiting for the practitioner the client is free to either relax in our pleasant waiting room or browse in Healthy Stuff, Marlow’s premier health food and supplement supplier.

The practitioners

All of the practitioners working at Marlow Complementary Health Care are qualified to the highest standards and fully insured. Each practitioner is self employed and expected to manage his or her own tax and National Insurance liability. They are also working under the code of ethics for their particular disciplinary body. This ensures that the client receives the best possible treatment in wonderful relaxing surroundings situated in the centre of Marlow. We are committed to an environment of continuous improvement so if there is anything you feel would enhance your experience please be sure to let us know. Our practitioners are committed to continuing professional development and are constantly updating and adding to their skills so keep an eye open for new treatments as they become available.

The Partners, Joe & Carol Hill will be there to support you with your marketing and building a business. You do have to bear in mind, though, that it is your business and your responsibility to promote it and build it.

Charges for practising at MCHC

Service charges per session for using the rooms are currently as follows:

  • Morning or afternoon only: £36
  • Evening only: £30
  • Morning and afternoon: £60
  • Afternoon and evening: £54
  • All day: £84
  • Extra hours rate: £12.00

To help you to build your business we offer you the option of a charge of £16.50 per hour (min. 1 hour per week). This means if you use the room for an hour or less, you pay £16.50 and then £8.25 per half hour after that. Conversion to the session rates above is at your option, but once made it cannot be reversed. Your notice period of four weeks is always at the full session rates.

Practice meetings

Practice meetings, which all practitioners are expected to attend, are held from time to time. At these meetings practitioners get to know each other so that they can understand who they are working with and to whom they may be able to refer clients within the practice that may require another practitioner’s support.

Location of the centre

The centre is located just off Marlow High Street in an oasis of tranquillity called Liston Court. It attracts much passing pedestrian traffic as it is on the route from Marlow’s main car park to the High Street. The business is located above Healthy Stuff, Marlow’s superb Health Food store that also provides the telephone and personal booking service and reception for the clients.

There are three good-sized treatment rooms in the practice. The largest room, to the rear of the practice, is equipped with a treatment couch and running water. The two rooms at the front of the building also have couch a window overlooking the gardens and are very suitable both for counselling work and for treatments which require the use of a couch.

The toilets are located on the first floor near the entrance to the centre.

Working at MCHC

The practice operates a multidisciplinary approach to Complementary Health Care offering a wide range of professional Health Care treatments by qualified and insured professional practitioners who are all members of professional bodies or associations, bound by a code of ethics.

Practitioners undertake to offer their services on a regular basis for a minimum of one morning, afternoon or evening a week. We also require our practitioners not to sell products to their clients that may (or their equivalents may) be purchased in the shop downstairs. We stipulate that you pay your invoices on time and leave the room clean, tidy and as you would expect to find it ready for the next practitioner.

There is a mandatory membership scheme that operates at the practice whereby all practitioners pay into the scheme and the money is ringfenced for expenditure on promoting the centre and its practitioners. The membership can be paid annually or six monthly. The fees are currently as follows:

  • 6 months: £50
  • 12 months: £80

MCHC offers you…

  • We provide suitably equipped and superbly decorated rooms which we also supply with heat and light.
  • We will ensure that there are at least two people in the practice at all times.
  • We handle client bookings (although not necessarily changes to bookings) and reception of the client on the day.
  • If required, we will accept payments (cash or cheque only) on your behalf.
  • We provide music equipment in the rooms and couch roll for the couches.
  • We print the practitioner’s brochure to the house style and display it in the shop along with a centre brochure and a brochure of all the available treatments.
